    Not only are we green and delicious, we aim to be the fastest brussels sprout in the East.  Right now we are trialing express Delivery for Sydney, and will soon be rolling it out further.

    Express Delivery is available for set boxes and other items showing the speedy sprout 🥦 icon.  If you only have those items in your cart you are eligible for express delivery, otherwise your first available date will be Regular Delivery.

    Local Boosting your immunity this flu season

    We’re all bracing ourselves for the oncoming flu season but here are some practical tips to make sure you come out on top.

    Taking a proactive approach to your health is a much smarter way to beat the flu rather than waiting for it to come to you!

    1. Eat fresh, local produce – what you put in is what you get out, not rocket science but the research conclusively shows that your gut is the answer to most things. Your happiness, your energy levels, immunity and protection from other nasty things like autoimmune diseases and even cancer. So when it comes to fuelling your body it’s back to basicsfresh wholefoods, mainly plant based should make up most of your diet.

    But just be careful because as the saying goes Apples ain’t Apples.


    Supermarket fruit and veg has typically been sitting around for weeks so has very few of the precious nutrients left that your body needs. And been coughed on by all insundry!


    At YFC we’ve made fresh food easy, produce is picked to order (you actually can’t get fresher than that) and grown with love by local producers. So it’s going to give your body everything it needs to keep you happy, healthy and bouncing out of bed.


    There is also lots of amazing things happening on a molecular level in your gut when you eat local produce that has been picked when it’s ripe compared to food that has been picked early so it can travel long distances and artificially ripened. I won’t bore you with the details but the key to a happy gut and great immunity is fresh, local produce and you can’t get that in the supermarkets!

     

    2. Love you gut with Pro-biotics – Once you’ve nailed the fresh local fruit and veg side of things you can help love your gut a little more with pro-biotic foods like kvass and kombucha. These drinks and other fermented foods help promote healthy gut bacteria and will have your body humming!

    3. Sleep More – Sleep is so important and we should all be getting at least 8hrs a night. So switch the T.V off, put your phone down and go to bed. Grab a great book and let your mind switch off so you can get a good night sleep.

    When your body is well rested it's in a much better position for fighting off the flu!
     
    4. Shop Online - One of the best ways to stop yourself from catching germs is to avoid them. Jump on you phone and do your shopping online rather than walking the supermarket isle and exposing yourself to the whole suburbs germs. 

    When it comes to fresh produce shopping online is king, it means your produce isn't touched by hundreds of hands before it comes home to you.  


    5. Get regular exercise – keep your body moving. A fit body is a happy body, even if it’s just a walk around the block each day make sure you get out. A short walk is perfect for getting your heart pumping nutritious, fresh blood into all your vital organs and keeping you smiling from the inside out!
