We’ve all got a happy place and it’s different for everyone and that’s what makes the world such a beautiful place.
For me it’s trails and it’s been that way for a long time. It’s the place where I can completely switch off. That feeling of freedom as you pass through the trees or skip across creeks, there’s nothing quite like it for pushing re-set.
This weekend we’re lucky enough to be part of an amazing new trail event in Newcastle; The Coastal Ascent.
We’re so blessed to live in such a beautiful part of the world surrounded by fantastic National Parks and beaches, it’s all right at our finger tips. I can’t think of anywhere better to embark on a quick run across the sand and up through the trees, it’s the perfect excuse to give trail running a go, try something new or head out for a run on your favourite trails.
With distances for everyone from the kids beach bolt to the full 25km it’s a great chance to grab a few friends and enjoy a morning on the trails.
We’ll be down at the finish line to give you a sweaty hug and hand over your pre-ordered “re-load packs”. If there is one thing trail running does it’s build an appetite and that’s where we come in. We’ve teamed up with the amazing Gareth from Covered in Crumbs to bake you up a brekky so delicious I dare say you’ll want two! To make sure they’re fresh we’ll only have a limited supply so you must pre-order (two if you’re feeling hungry!).
We’ll also have some local bath salts and muscle rubs made my Michelle from BareNaturesKin. Michelle is amazing and sore muscles or not her bath salts make any bath all that more enjoyable.
Trail running is such a supportive environment so if you’re worried about giving it a go don’t, you’ll love every moment and make some great friends along the way.
