I’m not sure where it all began…
I’m pretty sure having children had something to do with it, it completely changes you.
I guess you’re more invested in the future, and with five kids some would say I’m heavily invested!
So that’s what got me thinking, how can I make sure I don't wake up in twenty years time with massive regrets? Am I following my dreams? Building a better world?
It all sounds pretty cliché, but that kind of stuff goes through your head as the years pass you by.... the bigger picture just jumps up and grabs you.
So, I dug deep, rescued my passion, and bought myself some time.
Yes I’m passionate about Food that has the power to save the planet…
not in a fancy way, just fresh, wholesome food, gown in healthy land and eaten simply between friends.
But in our busy lives it's really hard to find fresh,local food that's been grown sustainability. I guarantee you it’s not what's being dished up by our supermarkets!
Where has all the good food gone?
We drive past it on road trips; the odd farm-gate sale, a local fish co-op. Producers are selling it once a month at local farmers markets and we see photos of it growing in foodie magazines.
But in reality, how does that help me dish up three solid meals a day?
That’s how I ended up here, creating what I know is going to be a tastier, fairer, healthier food system that's actually saving the planet.
Over a broken conversation on a family weekend away I convinced my cousin Cara to join me, there's no way I could sail this ship alone! Then after some heavy spreadsheet sessions and a few lunches in the park with my amazingly supportive husband we were all systems go.
The rest, so far has brought you here. To where you can start your journey, and help us regenerate our way of life through food. Food that's been grown locally and sustainably by producers you know. Food that's actually saving the planet (but that's another story).
So join us, be part of the journey to ‘eat well & do good’.
