I was born and raised in Sydney.
WHY CAULIFLOWER FLOUR?
I was inspired by my daughters love for all things cauliflower. I was making her cauliflower pizza bases, which took some time to make, especially with all the grating involved! I thought... 'what if we could create something which was an easy swap out for wheat based flour that happened to be good for you and managed to sneak in a serve of veggies...' I could see most gluten free flours on the market either lacked nutrients, needed other flours to mix it with and were not a cup for cup replacement for 'regular' flour. So I set out to solve these problems with our signature Cauliflower Flour Mix!
WHAT INSPIRES YOU DAY-TO-DAY?
What inspires me most is receiving feedback from our wonderful customers. We recently had someone thank us for giving them a product that they could make dumplings with. They were then able to bring the Yum Cha experience to their home, which was something they were unable to do for 20 years!
WHAT'S YOUR PERSONAL FOOD PHILOSOPHY?
That would have to be ‘Let food be thy medicine’, from Hippocrates. We also believe food needs to be enjoyed and taste good. We have therefore balanced out our mission which is to create great tasting food that happens to be good for you.
WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT YFC?
We love the partnerships YFC fosters with local growers and suppliers and that this partnership gets amplified by connecting them to the wider community.
WHAT'S YOUR 'GO-TO' IN THE KITCHEN RIGHT NOW?
I hate to be bias, ha, but… it’s an upcoming product we will be launching this year. It’s a crispy coating mix, suitable for chicken, fish, veggies or anything you like- bake it or fry it, it is absolutely delicious, versatile and addictive! We can't wait for you to see it!
WHAT'S COMING UP FOR POM POM PADDOCK?
As well as our crispy coating mix that I mentioned we are working on some super nutrient charged gluten free pizza bases! Cannot wait to get these out to the world and in to your tummies!
