We’re re-creating a broken food system, propped up by smoke and mirrors. We’re connecting our customers directly to local producers so they can get their hands on the freshest food possible grown on farms within their own communities.

Our Story
Your Food Collective was founded in January 2016 by cousins Cara Cooper and Lauren Branson as an alternative to the poor quality produce that is constantly dished up without remorse across the country. Everyone deserves better, consumers deserve fresh food, producers deserve to be paid better for the work they do and our planet needs a future.
We now have over 500 seasonal products in our marketplace and connect customers directly to over 50 local producers and we’re growing!

We want producers to be paid fairly for the work they do, so they can continue growing amazing food.
We want people to live in strong communities where you know your neighbours and have the support you need to dream big dreams….
Your Role
We’re looking for a self-motivated freelance graphic designer to join our Digital Marketing Team.
It’s a fantastic opportunity to join a dynamic, fast growing start-up in the food tech industry. The sky’s the limit!
You will be developing the design of customer engagement communications across digital channels. You know how to match the message with the medium, design dynamic graphics and drive deep customer engagement to reduce churn and increase lifetime value.
Your Purpose
- Be passionate about what you do – brining local food to local people everywhere
- Design and develop the layout for email communications that tells compelling stories and meets business objectives
- Provide subject matter expertise and implement best practices for email design, or be willing to work towards learning this
- Develop email design templates, styles and components
- Consider the use of dynamic content within email design
- Apply treatments and imagery as needed, by campaign
- Be comfortable working to dynamic timelines
- Some experience or willingness to learn Direct Mail design principles
- To love what you do
Your Skills
- Experience as a digital designer; or have studied Design
- Adobe Creative Suite (major focus on Photoshop and InDesign)
- Strong grammatical and spelling a plus
- Experience applying brand guidelines
- Experience with Email design and development a plus
- Experience in email platforms highly regarded (Mailchimp, Klaviyo etc)
- Retouching and colour grading experience a plus
- Retail / storytelling experience a plus
- Excellent communication skills
- Understanding of the food landscape
- Strong project management skills/ability to multi-task deadlines
- Strong collaborator & team player
- Strong conceptual skills and attention to detail
- Able to perform under pressure, demonstrate excellent attention to detail, and deliver consistent design work
- Proven organisational skills
- Highly creative!
- An optimistic problem solver.
- High personal drive and energy.
- Manages pressure whilst maintaining composure, control and performance.
- Courage to take calculated risks, stand up for what you believe in and push the envelope.

You have a genuine interest in food, and the ability to understand what consumers want. You live and breathe digital design, have a solid understanding of industry best practice and are able to use excellent time management skills to a high quantity of quality content, within tight deadlines.
This is a green field role, whereby you will be working within a high performing team to achieve agreed customer engagement success metrics. Be prepared to be challenged and adapt to ever changing requirements of this fast paced and exciting business.
Please note that this is a contract position with the opportunity to move into a more permanent role as the business grows
